Privacy policy

What we collect

The licensed-assessment form asks for name, email, phone (optional), suburb, nearest city, a rough property era, a description of the suspected material, and a confirmation that you will not disturb it. Netlify hosts form submissions when the site is deployed there. Emails to [email protected] are read by the publisher.

We collect that information so we can reply and, where appropriate, introduce you to a licensed asbestos assessor or removalist. A submission is not a booking. See contact us and terms and conditions.

What we do not want

Physical samples, dust, or photographs taken after you have broken a sheet “for the camera”. If material is already damaged, keep people away and engage a licensed asbestos professional — do not post the debris. We are not a laboratory. We will not analyse a chip sent to an email address.

Do not include health records, other people’s contact details you do not have permission to share, or documents you would not put in an ordinary email. This site publishes general information. It is not a medical service and it does not make medical claims.

Hosting and logs

The public site is a Next.js application hosted on Netlify. It is not a static HTML export. Netlify may run the application, serverless functions, redirects, and Netlify Forms as part of that host. Server logs and analytics, if enabled by the host, may include IP addresses, user-agent strings, and pages requested. We do not use that telemetry to identify asbestos-containing materials in your house.

Keystatic is the CMS used to edit pages and posts. Editorial files live in the project repository. They are not your contact-form contents.

If a third-party font, map, or analytics script is added later, that vendor’s privacy notice will apply to whatever that script collects. This page will be updated if that happens. Until then, treat the form and the publisher email as the personal-information paths.

How long we keep a request

We keep a contact request long enough to reply and, if you asked for a referral, to make the introduction. We will not keep a request longer than we need to action it. Email [email protected] if you want a request deleted.

We do not sell your details. We do not publish your suburb and description as a case study. We do not invent a testimonial from your email — see testimonials.

Your choices

You can email instead of using the form. You can decline to give a phone number. You can ask us not to introduce a third party and only to answer an information question. You cannot use this site to obtain DIY removal steps; we will not provide them.

Always engage a licensed asbestos professional for work on suspected ACM. Read Safe Work Australia, ASEA, and your state asbestos site. Those organisations have their own privacy notices when you use their tools.

Children, health information, and other people’s data

This site is not aimed at children. Do not send a child’s name or school details in a renovation story. Do not send medical records or ask us to interpret an exposure history — we do not make medical claims and we are not a clinic. Do not send a neighbour’s phone number unless they asked you to include it.

If you photograph a house, think about whether the image shows a street number you did not mean to share. We do not need a street number to start a referral. A suburb is enough.
